Monk
Transforming the Outfit Selection Experience through User-Centered Design and Machine Learning
Context
Specializing in UX Design during my journey at Talent Garden, I presented 'Monk' as my final project.
Monk emerged from recognizing the daily challenges tied to clothing choices in a world filled with stimuli and options, like the one we live in.

challenge
The project brief was expansive, challenging my class and me to identify and solve a problem through a mobile app in an intense 30-day challenge. Eager to bring purpose to this ambiguity, I initiated an extensive research phase. This exploration involved studying target behaviors, pinpointing pain points in daily routines, and analyzing market trends.
I committed to the mission of designing Monk, a revolutionary app aimed at simplifying the daily clothing selection process. While competitors existed, I thought, 'There's room for improvement.' This ambitious project provided an opportunity to delve into user-centered design and integrate innovative technologies like AI to deliver a unique user experience.
process
As anticipated, the project's first two weeks were dedicated to in-depth research. Through interviews, web research, and industry trend analysis, I identified user needs and critical points in the clothing decision-making process.
Using Figma, I crafted intuitive design flows, ensuring each interaction aimed to enhance the user experience. Every design decision was guided by User Experience principles, emphasizing clear navigation, accessibility, and creating a visually engaging environment. Streamlining the user flow was a top priority.
Outcome
While a formal client was not present, a feedback moment occurred with esteemed mentors and professionals from Sketchin, the design agency providing professors for the Master UX program at Talent Garden.
Their response to Monk exceeded expectations, standing out as the best among 40+ projects. Luca Mascaro, CEO of Sketchin, described it as 'Perfect,' a testament to the project's excellence.
Interactive prototypes on Figma, along with detailed documentation, will soon be available for further exploration.
